Lytham St Annes Rambling Club
One Man, 2000km

Until five years ago Gay and I lived in a small village in the French Pyrenees. I decided to celebrate my 70th birthday by walking for 70 days, averaging 30 km a day, from there to the house in Blackpool where I was born, arriving on my 70th birthday.

This was done to raise funds and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK. I also wrote a book about the project, the proceeds of which also went to the Charity. The overall journey was some 1242 miles.

What follows is a serialisation for our members.

The book charts his progress across two countries and the various trials and tribulations that any walk of this nature might contain.

The book was originally sold for £10 in order to raise funds for
Pancreatic Cancer Research.

It’s now serialised here: free for you to enjoy.
