Christmas Ramble

Our Christmas Ramble is fast approaching and we thought we would get the ball rolling by asking members to provisionally book a place so that we can gauge numbers.
Last year was well supported and we laid on two coaches so that everyone could enjoy a festive ramble and sumptuous meal in good company. We plan to do the same this year if the demand is high. Here are a few details to let you know what we are planning.
Our Christmas Ramble will take place on Sunday 1st December
The ramble will be to Windermere and we will have the usual selections of walks to choose from. Daylight hours will have shortened by December so we plan to leave Windermere at 16:00.
Our Festive Meal will be held at The Longlands Hotel at Tewitfield and as before, we will be hosted in the Function Suite. Members who were there last year will understand why we booked again almost immediately. We plan to have a two-course meal (main and dessert) Here are the details:

MAIN COURSES:

Turkey Ballentyne,
chipolata sausage and cranberry sauce served with sage & onion stuffing, goose fat roasted potatoes and turkey jus. The meal will be served with roasted root vegetables and winter greens.
This meal is Dairy Free. A Gluten Free option will not include sausage or stuffing. (GF Option)
Ginger braised short Rib of Beef with crushed carrot, swede and crispy kale. The meal will be served with roasted root vegetables and winter greens.
This meal is Gluten Free. A Dairy Free option will not include carrot & swede. (DF Option)
Pan fried Cod Fillet with curried mussels and choritzo powder. The meal will be served with roasted root vegetables and winter greens.
Wild Mushroom Pithivier with baked celeriac puree, pickled squash and roast onion jus. The meal will be served with roasted root vegetables and winter greens.
This meal is Gluten and Dairy Free, suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.

DESSERT MENU:

Christmas Pudding
with Brandy Sauce.
A Dairy Free option will include sorbet instead of sauce. (DF Option)
Malted Milk Pannacotta with Malt granola.
Cheese Board comprising a selection of Wendsleydale with Cranberries, Garstang White, tasty Lancashire and Lyth Valley Damson Chutney and biscuits.
Gluten Free biscuits are available on request.
A Vegan/Gluten Free dessert option will be available on request.

The cost of the Christmas Ramble
(meal and coach fare included) will be £31 per person.
Members who wish to join the ramble are invited to make a provisional booking. Please note that your booking WILL NOT be confirmed until payment is received. Due to the nature of the booking, no cancellations are possible.
